All of the front nine is very much a links style course. From any given point on the front you are able to see the majority of the other holes. Most of the trouble involves sand traps and thick rough.

The Tee

You begin with a long par four that plays from a downhill shot but generally into the wind. You can pretty much hit it as long as you want from the tee. However, about 100 yards out the fairway slopes down and to the right. In the background to the left you can see Crystal Lake. The fairway bunker on the right comes into play on both the first and second holes.

The Approach

This is from about 220 yards out.

This is from about 110 yards out. You can see how the fairway slows quickly off to the right.

The Green

The bunkers protecting the green do not really come into play except on particularly poor approach shots. The front half of this green slopes from back to front and from right to left. The back right of the green is relatively flat but the back left slopes off as you can see.
